1000 Places to See Before You Die :: R&G

By::Patricia Schultz

Publisher:: Workman Publishing Company
Price:: $20.00
ISBN:: 978-0761163374

About the Book::
The world's bestselling travel book is back in a more informative, more experiential, more budget-friendly full-color edition. A #1 New York Times bestseller, 1,000 Places reinvented the idea of travel book as both wish list and practical guide. As Newsweek wrote, it “tells you what's beautiful, what's fun, and what's just unforgettable — everywhere on earth.” And now the best is better. There are 600 full-color photographs. Over 200 entirely new entries, including visits to 28 countries like Lebanon, Croatia, Estonia, and Nicaragua, that were not in the original edition. There is an emphasis on experiences: an entry covers not just Positano or Ravello, but the full 30-mile stretch along the Amalfi Coast. Every entry from the original edition has been readdressed, rewritten, and made fuller, with more suggestions for places to stay, restaurants to visit, festivals to check out. And throughout, the book is more budget-conscious, starred restaurants and historic hotels such as the Ritz, but also moderately priced gems that don’t compromise on atmosphere or charm.

The world is calling. Time to answer.

My Thoughts::

I have always wanted to travel the world but never had the means to do so. So think that the next best thing is to explore the USA and start with Arizona the state that I live in. As i was looking in the book looking for locations in Arizona I noticed 7 different locations. The awesome part is that I have been to 3 out of the 7 locations. Each location comes with a lot of information if you plan on going to that location. Each location has information on the place, Where it is, lodging and time. Some places have more information then others. I like that is has phone numbers and website urls in the sections as well. I know that when I go back to Tennessee I am going to go out to all 4 locations in Tennessee. Like The Grand Ole Opry I lived back and fort in Tennessee for 6 years. However, I have never been there and heard it is a wonderful place. I have already started marking my book and planning for a trip in July for a place in Arizona.
